Privacy Policy

Keak is a voice dictation and AI assistant created by Pep Secanell ("Keak", "we", "us"), based in Spain. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Questions: support@keak.app.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: your email, name, language and preferences, and a password managed and hashed by our authentication provider.
- Voice recordings: audio is captured only while you hold a dictation shortcut. It is sent to our transcription provider to turn it into text and is not kept as audio once transcription is complete.
- Transcriptions and content: the text produced from your voice, plus your dictations, Thought Dumps, Keak AI conversations, styles, Kodes, vocabulary, and history.
- Personalization and context: the personality, the "about you" text, and the files you choose to add for Keak AI. For files we store only the extracted text, not the original file.
- Screen images: only if you turn on screen vision, and only for the single request you send. The image is sent to our AI provider to answer you and is not stored.
- Payment data: handled by our payment processors. We do not receive or store your full card details.
- Usage and device data: minutes used, plan, app version, and basic diagnostics that keep the app working and secure.
2. Why we use your data and our legal bases
- To provide the service you ask for, such as transcription, cleanup, rewriting, and Keak AI answers (performance of a contract).
- For optional features you switch on, such as screen vision, saved context, and analytics (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- To keep Keak secure, prevent abuse, and improve it (our legitimate interests).
- To meet legal and accounting obligations, such as keeping billing records (legal obligation).
3. Who we share it with
We use trusted providers that process data only to deliver your request:
- OpenAI, for speech to text transcription.
- Google (Gemini), for Keak AI answers and for the assistant voice.
- Anthropic, as a fallback for Keak AI answers.
- Supabase and Lovable, for hosting, database, and authentication.
- RevenueCat, Stripe, Apple, and Google, for subscriptions and payments.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to train third-party models beyond what is needed to return your result.
4. International transfers
Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep it
- History is kept according to your plan: Free for 7 days, Starter for 30 days, and Pro without a fixed limit. You can delete individual items at any time.
- Audio is not retained after transcription.
- If you delete your account, we remove your personal data, except records we must keep by law, such as invoices.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your data, and to withdraw consent for optional features. To exercise them, email support@keak.app and we will respond promptly. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In Spain this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es).
7. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure. No service can promise perfect security, but we work to keep your information safe.
8. Children
Keak is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email.
